Help make #GivingTuesday (Nov. 27) the day with the largest online giving total of this year’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)! Campaign Managers and Outreach Coordinators can implement the following activities at the agency/installation, office/unit level, or zone level to help promote #GivingTuesday and encourage online pledging.

Implement a #GivingTuesday Email Blast

Help build momentum leading up to #GivingTuedsay by taking part in the email blast. Prewritten email templates are provided in the Email Copy Guide along with images/attachments and should be sent on the following schedule:

  • November 13, 2018: Two weeks before #GivingTuesday
  • November 20, 2018: One week before #GivingTuesday
  • November 26, 2018: The day before #GivingTuesday
  • November 27, 2018: #GivingTuesday
  • November 28, 2018: The day after #GivingTuesday

Go Green for #GivingTuesday

For #GivingTuesday we’re encouraging feds to Go Green. There are many different takes on going green that you can take within your department/agency, here are a few ideas:

  • Use the social media resources and the Social Media Copy Guide to promote #GivingTuesday on your or your agency/office/unit social media platforms
  • Encourage all of your colleagues to go green by wearing green on #GivingTuesday
  • Cover your office space or door with green decorations
  • Send all of your emails in green text on #GivingTuesday, if someone asks why you are using green text, take that opportunity to tell them about giving through the CFC
  • A new take on a green screen – ask your agency to use the screensaver as a splash screen for all computers on #GivingTuesday or just use it as your screensaver for a day
  • Hold an event on #GivingTuesday. Consider holding a Go Green fashion show, a walking tour of green office spaces, a contest for the best green outfit, or a potluck with all green food (remember no campaign funds can be used to purchase food or beverage)
  • Use the #GivingTuesday ad by printing it and hanging it in your lunch room, sending it to be displayed on your agency’s intranet, or any other way you can get it out there for people to see
  • Send the #GivingTuesday press release or memo to your agency’s publicity team requesting an article on your intranet or agency newsletter
